Máire is a researcher within the Centre for Special Educational Needs, Inclusion and Diversity (CSENID).Sheis the Co-ordinator of the Certificate in Special Educational Needs for Special Needs Assistants and the Module Leader for Inclusion; Professional studies in SEN. Maire is a former primary and special education teacher and worked predominately in DEIS settings. From 2013-2019 she was seconded to the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) as a Literacy Advisor and Team Leader for CPD and Design. She has considerable expertise in managing, designing and delivering programmes at pre-undergraduate, undergraduate and post-graduate levels in the area of special education and literacy.
Máire is a graduate of the University of Wales, Bangor with a Bachelor of Education (2005). She is also a graduate of St. Angela’s College Sligo with a PGSE (2011) and also a MA in SE (2013).
