I have made a late application and I need to submit supporting documents, what should I do?
If you are required to supply documentation to support your application you should post your documents to CAO, Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway.

I sent my documents to CAO just before the government restrictions were announced - do I need to re-send them?
Documents sent before our office closed have been processed.

I am a mature applicant and I need to send supporting documents, am I too late?
As you are a mature applicant, please email admissions@tangelas.nuigalway.ie to ask if they will take account of documents sent at this stage (Documents were to be sent within 10 days of submitting an application). If you are required to supply documentation to support your application you should post your documents to CAO, Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway.

I am an EU citizen who applied using late application and I cannot post my supporting documents due to office closure
If you are required to supply documentation to support your application you should post your documents to CAO, Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway. These documents will then be processed when the CAO office re-opens. HEIs will understand the position.

I am a GCE Applicant and I am concerned about how my results will be considered this year?
The decision is a matter for the Higher Education Institutions, but we expect that grades issued by examining authorities will be treated as normal.

I am an 'Other School Leaving Applicant' and my exams have been rescheduled for end July/August - what happens now?
There is much uncertainty at the moment. The best advice we can give is to send your results as soon as you receive them.

Mature Applicants Information

Before applying you should read the CAO Handbook and view the information for mature applicants on Higher Education Institution websites. In particular, you should note HEI requirements for the provision of supplementary application information. If you have any questions, you must contact the Admissions Office or Mature Students Officer of the appropriate HEIs well in advance of application closing dates.

Access Routes: HEAR/DARE

Students, parents/guardians and Guidance Counsellors with questions about completing the HEAR or DARE form should consult the published handbooks and contact CAO if they cannot find answers to their questions. The CAO have staff trained in dealing with queries on completing these sections of the form.

CAO Office contact hours are 09:30 - 13:00, and 14:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.

The best and most effective way of communicating with CAO is via the online contact form.
If you have a CAO Application Number please include it in all communication - this will allow the CAO the opportunity to review your application and reply to your query, usually within one working day.
