National Centre of Excellence for Home Economics
On Friday 19th March 2021, the School of Home Economics was delighted to officially launch the National Centre of Excellence for Home Economics by Minister Frank Feighan, Minister of State with responsibility for Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy as well as distinguished Guest Speakers.
The official launch will be preceded by input from four distinguished guest speakers from the field of Home Economics globally:

The International Federation for Home Economics - A Global Perspective
This new Centre recognises distinguished expertise in a unique domain of academic specialisation on the island of Ireland and will be a vehicle through which the teaching and research strengths of Home Economics will continue to be progressively developed and branded.
The Centre will consolidate capacity in the discipline Home Economics across the three pillars: Teaching & Learning; Research & Innovation and Community Engagement.
